MARS STRANGE COLOSSI
Part 2 of 5
Report #088
July 11, 2005
This Part 2 portion of the report is just a brief deviation and exercise demonstrating how easily and subtly digital imaging can be compromised to obscure truth even when in plain sight. Note that my own attempts in this regard are intentionally very simple, careless, and strictly amateurish but note that the results are still very effective. Imagine what can be accomplished by the best skills, equipment and software available in satellite planetary imaging.
The above image is of a single worked stone block. I have intentionally altered the image by cropping out and moving in too close as well as removing most of the more familiar frame of reference points that would help determined scale. This is often how it is done in satellite imaging, that is among a whole raft of other techniques. Can you readily and conclusively determine the size of this single stone? Is it the size of a hand or larger? Note that there are still size reference points in this scene that I could have also removed or altered but didn't (example: background vertical blocks) that would have further obscured determination of this object's size.
Certainly the stone is laying on the ground and casting shadow and visually chopped off at the top upright stones in the background are clues but none of these teasing clues are really conclusive enough and so size may be assumed to be large but the degree is still debatable based on what little one has to go on. Now look what happens when the reference scale data that I removed from the image consisting of people, shadows, and bushes is returned as in the image below. Suddenly a reasonable grasp of true scale immediately becomes apparent. The effect would have been even pronounced had I provided a more distant view encompassing more background information.
This ancient object is the largest single worked stone block known in the world here on Earth. It measures 69'x16'x13' feet and weighs an incredible 1,170 metric tons. It is one of the famous colossal stones of Baalbek but this one is still anchored on one end abandoned in a nearby quarry and was never used. Baalbek is located in Lebanon, specifically the Bekaa valley in the Lebanese mountains about 60 km from the Mediterranean coast at 34º Latitude and 36º Longitude.
In ancient times Baalbek was a small relatively minor town on the way to Damascus. Much later the Romans came along and built some of their greatest and most elaborate Roman temples at and nearby this already ancient site using some of these great stones as base platforms and retaining walls. But, who could have originated these stones and then expected to effectively move a colossal block like this prior to ancient Roman times is a real mystery. Feed the term Baalbek or Baalbek Stones into any search engine of your choice or go to http://www.geocities.com/jirimruzek/baalbek.htm?200516 for some good insight into this ancient mystery.
Meanwhile, what we're doing here is just a simple limited demonstration that the interpretation of the true size of an object is a function of not only the object itself but just as much or more so an analysis of the environment that it sits in and the clues in that environment. Even more important, those clues must be relatively familiar to the Earth human eye for scale and identity to be adequately determined. The two men and their shadows in the above quarry scene associated with the block are primary and very familiar immediately providing a sense of scale of the true gigantic size of this block. The recognizable plants and bushes in the foreground also assist in this regard.
A point I'm trying to make here is that the goal of image tampering in a view of a planetary surface is very often to obscure anything that might serve as a familiar size reference as compared to just hiding specific anomalous objects. Without such scale reference point information in a scene, it is very difficult to determine true size scale and identity of anomalous evidence. This allows those who would do so to manipulate the view obscuring information right in plain sight as with the evidence in Part 1 of this report via the manipulating of the view distance in a way that it is not readily apparent that this is what has been done.
The colossal forms evidence in Part 1 doesn't have to be hidden in the MGS MOC M11-03072 and SP1-23008 narrow-angle imaging because messing with the perception of scale is sufficient there. However, these colossal objects are plenty large enough to be clearly seen in the much more distant MOC wide-angle companion imaging where it is available and that would have supplied an informative A-B comparison between the narrow-angle and wide-angle imaging. So, the true anomalous object hiding image tampering applications are actually done in the companion wide-angle images like M11-03073 and R07-01469 altering the view of the interior of this crater and eliminating the super large scale anomalous evidence from view.
The above two side-by-side images demonstrate how anomalous evidence like the colossal masses can be removed from sight in the wide-angle digital satellite imaging. The scene on the left is the original science data wide-angle view with unenhanced anomalous information plainly visible as pointed out with red arrows. The scene on the right is the exact same image with the anomalous information now hidden by my own clone and blur image tampering manipulations.
Note that, even though amateurishly, quickly and carelessly done by me, it is still very effective. Now you see it and now you don't! It's really very easy with just a little graphics work knowledge. Basically what I've crudely created in just a jumbled blurry mess but this is very typical of what is seen in the official science data, just better done, that is suppose to and incredibly does pass for real terrain.
The tampering applications that took me only a few minutes to do can be done is mere seconds by super computers and far better than someone like me could do. The key is the combination of super computer speed, artificial intelligence, and the first step of the super computer's graphics software being able to map to everything in the environment and at resolutions far closer and more fine than anything ever released to the public. Once the software mapping is done, anything in the now mapped environment can be manipulated and/or altered very fast to fit preprogrammed parameters.
The truth is that the above image on the left is actually itself full of official level image tampering all over the place including right around the anomalous objects themselves. For some reason known only somewhere among the insiders, this particular colossal size anomalous evidence was left out of the tampering in the MGS MOC data to titillate and tease where it is eliminated completely in the older and earlier 1970s Viking data of the same site. Could it be rebellion within the secrecy ranks allowing this to get through, a test to see if anyone among we unwashed masses out here could see this, or part of some other subtle plan? In any case, it always has amazed me that all this soft fluffy jumbled "stuff" so prevalent all around in the Mars terrain could be so easily mistaken by scientist for real terrain geology when it so obviously is not.
Well we don't want to spend too much time or imaging on this image tampering business, so it's time to move on to Part 3 at the link below and more strange colossal masses evidence.
