MOON & BIBLE CONNECTION?
Commentary #005
December 20, 2004
Here we are with the Christmas holidays nearly upon us and I thought I might share with you some of my speculation on one possibility of how religion and the Moon might potentially share some common ground. Remember, this is just one person's exploratory speculation of a possibility and not to be considered promoting it as a fact or an answer.
With that said, below is an e-mail received from a very thoughtful and articulate viewer that raises insightful questions as to the possibility of a profound connection between the Moon and the Christian Bible challenging me to come up with my own thoughts on this. My response is not point by point and is generalized, but between this viewer's comments and my own thoughts, you may find something interesting in this. The viewer's identity is of course kept confidential.
VIEWER COMMENTS:
Dear Joseph,
Once again, your latest paper Report # 070 (titled "Moon
Banding Evidence"), is outstanding! Your research, photos
& accompanying text are informative, eye-opening and very intriguing.
I literally check your site every day, for the latest update or new paper!
Previously I have told you that I have read the material on your site, and,
for a very long time. What I have not told you about myself, I wish to do
so now, VERY briefly and then close with a question, concerning your latest
report.
I am an evangelical Christian, holding the Bible as the written record of
creation and the revelation of God and the New Testament being God's revelation
of Himself in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. In the Bible, there are
documented accounts of the creation of both spiritual and physical beings
and realms. Additionally, there is clearly indicated that one of those spiritual
beings, created once in wisdom and beauty, chose a path of rebellion against
his Creator. It says he took "one-third" of the created beings with
him -- clearly an indication of a rebellion. It is also recorded that when
this occurred, there was "war in the Heavens." Finally, of said
beings, it says, "they left their first dwelling place," indicating
a departure from one place and a resettling elsewhere.
The conclusion that I have reached over many years of studying the various
sites on the Net which show remnants of civilization is that what we are looking
at are the remains of the dwelling places, structures, technology -- of those
beings either prior to and/or after their rebellion. This would account for
such magnificent structures arrayed using intelligent geometry on such a colossal
scale. This would also explain why we see not only so much erosion (time)
-- but indeed as you have indicated, so much clear evidence of obvious warfare
- some of which has obviously even changed both the atmosphere and climate
of these planets! Finally, since the Bible does indicate that some of these
beings still exist and are active (others it says are locked up!) this would
account for both the UFO activity (especially in cases where the beings perform
nefarious activities) as well as a distant "industrial plant" with
its horizontal stack puffing vapor & lighted dome, (to use only 1 brief
but obvious example).
Having said that, but in no-way asking you to adopt my beliefs (or offend),
my question is this: Could these "bandings" have been purposely
(if you will) "made" that way, to allow this small orbiting body
to indeed merely be a reflector of the sun during the nighttime sky? Since
it is on such a planetary scale -- could they have been placed by design to
allow that body to reflect? The reason I ask is that the Bible records the
creation of the moon as "the lesser light to rule the night". Sort
of a divine "night-light", I interpret that to mean. I do not believe
it to be a ship, but, if it was indeed created to somehow reflect light, there
must be something there that would allow it to do so.
Finally, I may I ask if you have researched any of this material from a Biblical
perspective? And, if so, what conclusions you have drawn? I would certainly
enjoying reading that if you care to share. Certainly, even if one did not
wish to consider the Bible at all, the evidence which exists and which you
have so impressively detailed in your journey does clearly show us -- we were
never alone -- nor are we.
With expectation, in sincerity, I await your reply.
MY COMMENTS:
Your points are very thoughtful and well stated. As I am sure you are well aware, not many biblically oriented Christians would be able to make or accept a connection between the kind of Moon based space exploration technological evidence at this Web site and traditional Christian biblical concepts. That you are able to be open to exploration of this kind of information and even correlate it with your evangelical belief system is impressive.
Even though limited, the new visual physical
evidence we have so far suggests that the Moon may be at least in part an
artificial created body on a scale considered super colossal by our standards
and it further suggests that the Moon is or was significantly populated by
someone very advanced. The image tampering in our Moon satellite imaging and
our out of character continuing avoidance of the Moon, itself very telling
evidence, suggests that the Moon is very possibly still currently actively
populated. The visual evidence we have so far from Mars, including warfare
evidence I've been holding back for inclusion in a second book, suggests that
it to is also significantly populated, possibly even over populated by our
standards, and quite possibly by multiple differing highly advanced species.
So, how might this kind of planetary technology based evidence connect to
us biblically?
Well an examination of our genetic structure
when compared to fellow primates that are also suppose to have evolved on
this planet with us reveals some errors in our human genetic structure not
shared by our close fellow primates. That in turn strongly suggests the possibility
that someone has artificially interfered with our genetic structure at some
point in our past development and that not all of it is the result of evolutionary
influences. Depending on the view, this kind of evidence could even be interpreted
as tending to support the general biblical basic concept that man, as we are
aware of ourselves to be and what we are, may well have been a function of
both initial intervention as well as evolutionary development.
If so, was this intervention in the form of creation as portrayed in the Bible?
As you know, I am evidence driven but, in this case, there just isn't enough
objective evidential information for me to answer such a question with confidence.
Still, I know that this is not what you are looking for from me, so consider
the more speculative personal exploration as follows.
In my opinion, I suspect that the biblical
story of the beginnings of man here on Earth, as are the many other similar
creation stories, is true in general but not necessarily in specifics. There
are so many possibilities and man is ever the one to arbitrarily fill in any
truthful knowledge gaps with plenty of information that was shall we say more
socially believable and acceptable to those in that earlier time and place
making some specific details seriously suspect.
For example, the Garden of Eden was clearly described as a place. Consider
that such a place might have been a locale on the artificially controlled
environment of the Moon or maybe even the whole Moon itself as it was in a
far distant time. Remember, that the interpretation of what may constitute
a "Garden of Eden" or a highly desirable place in a long ago age
may not be the same as we might interpret that to be like today. Perhaps the
banishment of the rebellion participants was from the more desirable (depends
on perspective) and more familiar lighter gravity of the Moon, an environment
that they may have been acclimated to and more comfortably physically adapted
to, now to the very heavy crushing uncomfortable gravity well of the Earth
with its much more base survivalistic environment may have seemed like a kind
of "Hell" to new unadapted arrivals and been very hard on them.
Further, it may have also later served as the eventual dumping ground for
the still less controllable and compliant experimental types like Adam and
Eve after generations of those first thrown "down" to Earth had
developed. That of course would explain the presence of the biblically unidentified
others on Earth with whom Adam and Eve and their children may have mingled
and reproduced with. It might even explain the genetic errors in current human
DNA structure as not all genetic material between the older rebellion descendants
and the newer modified Adam and Eve arrivals may have been entirely compatible.
In other words, it is interesting to speculate that we may have all come from
the same incredibly ancient common stock but with some minor flaws in doing
so.
As this point I must tell you that I personally have some trouble with the
concept of a mature wise supreme all knowing being wanting his creations to
not eat from the "tree of knowledge" and this being at the instigation
of a sneaky lesser being. That sounds just a little too much like someone
wanting to keep someone else ignorant, stupid and under control for their
own selfish purposes. It also sounds suspiciously all too human to me, especially
earlier humans demonstrating a lack of sufficient inner ethical values and
a controlling desire of wanting to be taken care of in "paradise"
while remaining in ignorance without any meaningful growth responsibilities
by a well meaning but also a I don't have a clue parent. Such a petty scenario
so, in my opinion, full of errors in judgment just doesn't ring true for me
and doesn't describe an all knowing being of superior intelligence.
I also have some serious trouble with the concept of a mature wise supreme
all knowing being becoming emotionally irritated enough with his children
over one such relatively minor disobedient event to angrily and casually discard
them out of his place for them. You've violated one of my rules and your out
of here! It sounds much too fire breathing and petty a scenario to me and
not remotely like the wise loving all knowing God I envision. On the other
hand, such very limiting descriptive characterizations do seem entirely too
familiarly human, especially when we are talking about from humans of ancient
times recounting this in a fashion more suitable to their belief systems of
those earlier rougher times.
Same with testing a faithful believer to sacrifice his innocent young son
or getting involved in a petty test with another clearly lesser being of another
faithful believer dumping sad disaster after sad disaster on an innocent and
loyal person as well as his innocent loved ones. What does a supreme all knowing
being need with such a crude destructive test that he is already suppose to
know the answer to? What does such a being have to prove to a lesser being
and one he's in a "bet" with? Sounds suspiciously insecure, cruel,
and much too human to me and especially so being recounted by people of those
earlier more rough and survivalistic times. Even when an attempt to make such
heaped on atrocities right with the primary victim, it ignores the impact
other innocent loved ones. Further, by association the participate corrupts
himself because what you've done and reduced your own self to in the process
of creating such a negative scenario is now part of you and is now a permanent
part of your own personal reality. Again, it sounds just too petty and a all
too human in its capacity to me.
I don't know but I doubt that the Moon's sole original purpose was to light
up the Earth at night with reflective sunlight or to influence the Earth tides,
weather, seasons, etc. I suspect those factors are just natural consequences
of it being there that ancient life on Earth eventually adjusted to. I suspect
that the original purpose of the Moon, whether as a artificial craft from
elsewhere or constructed or modified in place, has been to provide a favored
more desirable environment more conducive to intelligent life's (different
than our own) personal desires, goals and needs, at least back in the time
when it was initiated.
Alternatively, would it violate your belief systems if you eventually learned
conclusively that we may all be biological but still artificially created
self sustaining and self aware constructs in our initial beginnings? That
is the very scenario that the biblical version itself expresses, it's just
that we don't view it exactly that way. Even at our relatively primitive current
level of technological advancement, we can create our own crude forms mimicking
life right now out of metal, plastic, and silicon and we are steadily moving
into the field of the biological development and artificial intelligence as
well. Whether right or wrong, think what just another 100 years of development
and change along these lines may bring in complexity to the human condition
in this regard!
As for me, I can accept and appreciate that my independent self aware life
may have been due in part or in whole to the efforts of someone else such
as a supreme being directly or indirectly via intermediary others working
knowingly or unknowingly on his/her/its behalf and under his/her/its influence.
The problem in such an issue isn't with such technological advancements and
abilities but in our reactionary emotions and belief systems that can so easily
be perceived as being offended and even violated sending us off on a emotional
reaction jag where accurate perception and reason begins to suffer. However,
human emotional belief systems and psychology's change with the times to.
I am merely glad that, in this time and
place, I have a independent self aware interesting life and appreciate it
thoroughly regardless of how I may have come by it. Still, I am a seeker and
would like to know. Wouldn't we all?
