Commentary #009
November 13, 2005
Few here in the USA want to hear much about this subject, especially using the kind of stronger rhetoric (for me) I'm going to be using here. This may also be even more true for many in other countries around the world as they mistakenly perceive this to be a distant USA problem that will never negatively impact their lives in their land. If so, think again.
Like many of us involved in our everyday lives, I'm certainly no political activist, not a republican or democrat, rarely vote (give me some quality choices), and I can tell you that I don't really want to get into this either. Yet, in my opinion, all of the larger civilized nations on this planet and every single citizen in them are already in peril whether any of us want to admit it or not. So, in my own limited way as a citizen with no party affiliations or alignments, I'm compelled to at least attempt to make this clarion call hopefully to help wake up anyone who will listen to this peril.
Do you remember that before 9/11, the USA had built up a roughly 3-trillion dollar surplus? That's a serious pile of money that could have gone to so many issues and strengthening the USA. Let's face it, although certainly not alone in this regard, the USA economy is currently a driving engine essential to the stable financial health of most of the world's larger nations and thereby their population's welfare. The healthier and more stable the USA is, the better it is eventually for everyone around the world. History shows us that this responsibility may one day shift to different population centers in the world but, until that shift comes, hopefully via sheer healthy productivity leadership for the good of all, this is what we all have to work with and depend upon.
Unfortunately, after 9/11, too many decisions were made more on an emotional and trusting basis. Now, not only has all of that 3-trillion dollar surplus been entirely spent, the USA is now 8-trillion dollars in debt. In other words and as incredible as it is, in just a few short years the USA has spent a record total of $11,000,000,000,000+. Yes, check out all those zeros! Shocking isn't it! Where did it all go? Worse, irresponsibly only an insufficient small portion of that gigantic spending spree has gone to shoring up the general welfare of the USA. So, make no mistake about it, this combination of spending so far beyond our means and then spending that money so irresponsibly compounds itself and has incredibly lethal consequences!
To give you an idea of the magnitude of this potential catastrophe, it would take every man, woman, and child (including even babies) alive in the USA today at this moment coughing up almost $27,000 apiece to pay off the $8-trillion current debt and that's just to reach only a break even point. Impossible you say, well welcome to the real world consequences of reaping the seeds that one sows.
Even worse, the USA trade deficit continues to soar by the second at incredible high speed astronomical figures beyond that $8-trillion debt. Also, the USA is borrowing heavily from and increasingly in debt to some world power centers that have historically either been old enemies and/or at the very least may not have the best interest of the USA and its democratic processes at heart and from whom we can probably expect no mercy when the time comes to pay the Piper for our irresponsible behavior.
The blame for this doesn't just rest on the political leadership, they're who we elected or appointed and they have only done what we have allowed them to do by our ignoring the situation and defaulting to their judgment. Further, myopic thinking at cooperate level has typically resulted in special interest self interest decision making at the expense of the whole. In other words, we have all dropped the ball in varying degrees resulting in this incredible mess. But this commentary isn't about wasting time assigning blame, it's about waking up to the reality of this catastrophe NOW and trying to do what we can NOW to reverse this irresponsible decision making with its potential for USA and then global disaster consequences.
This problem is so serious and so immediate that there is no time to try to be gentle in persuading political leadership that they might want to do something constructive about this soon. If you find this situation unacceptable, then you should clearly and emphatically express your sense of emergency and DEMAND change from political leadership and right now! Further, make it clear that anyone in leadership perceived to be dragging their feet any at all in this regard, should and will be replaced as quickly as possible and with someone else who can take this looming disaster and its consequences seriously treating it as the emergency that it really is.
Although any principle fixes must take place here in the USA as a domestic matter, this is not just a USA problem, it is a world problem and of major proportions. Make no mistake about it, the USA is in danger of collapse financially and as a world power and that reality most definitely will have a similar domino effect disaster consequence among the other major world powers. It could even eventually result in world anarchy and the general collapse of world civilizations with new and possibly military oriented power centers arising out of the ashes taking control and curbing hard fought for and earned personal freedoms for many generations to come.
It is hard for me to imagine that anyone could have just been stupid enough to carelessly do this. Certainly one would think that ignorance cannot be a factor on something that is otherwise so simple as 2+2=4? However, I'm a person who has always had to earn my way and suffer the full consequences of my decision making, be it good or bad. Accordingly, it is perhaps hard for me to identify with leadership types working with or in a government bureaucracy atmosphere thoroughly addicted to what may appear to be an endless supply of money (its not) coming out of supporting populations and where public attention and potential criticism is so often easily misdirected away from mistakes and their consequences.
On the other hand, if stupidity and ignorance are not factors in producing such irresponsible behavior, don't we then have to ask whether this situation has been manipulated into existence by intent? If so, to what end and by whom? Does someone want the current world power structure grid to collapse so that they can pick up the pieces out of the ashes creating a new world order under the guise of it being for the good of all? Hard to grasp but, if it is so, who can possibly buy into having any respect for or confidence in someone so callous and cold blooded that they can hold the welfare and lives of so many millions and billions as expendable and in such glaring disregard?
If the manner of my rhetoric here sounds extreme, it's not because I'm an extremist or alarmist. I'm actuallly rather conservative. Many of you by now should have some insight into my nature based on what I do rather than what others may say that I do. No it's because I believe that the situation is more extreme in its potential consequences if allowed to continue than we could ever imagine and certainly far more extreme than leadership wants to admit to or you to be fully aware of. Remember, like the planetary research discovery evidence that I present, I did not make that anomalous evidence or this gigantic debt situation, I am merely reporting on its reality and potential consequence. Make no mistake about it, survival itself as we know it is literally at stake here.
As always, you must decide for yourself any merit in my comments here. But, if you are of like mind, then start saturating the USA Administration and all members of Congress with contact demanding an immediate halt to this irresponsible spending and impress on them the need for reversal of the disastrous USA debt situation with its global consequences potential as this nation's number ONE priority. Don't accept being put off or empty "it's all going to be okay" platitudes either. The people need to take back control of this country and its direction NOW or the global consequences are going to be very severe!
