MARS OPPORTUNITY ROVER
LANDS IN LIFE: Part-2 of 4

Report #141

June 15, 2008

PART-1 ..... PART-3 ..... PART-4

The above 6th and 7th dramatic and strange looking images demonstrates a clearer view of the type of evidence pointed out by the white arrows in the previous images #4 and #5. The 6th more light reflective one is taken by one panoramic camera and the 7th slightly darker one by the other pancam. The latter is smaller in size here because it is smaller in size in the official imaging and comes that way.

This is the key evidence in this reporting. The above object was recently brought to my attention with no explanations by a party identifying himself only as BlueDuck as an email identity. I confirmed to him that I was aware of this ever since the Opportunty Lander landed on Mars and that I intended to report on it. This person seemed at big paranoid but I offered to at least give him credit for bringing it to my attention again but never hear back from him. Too bad but meanwhile the overriding question is what in the world is this object?

You can bet that, once those representing the official position understand where I am headed with this reporting, they will no doubt laugh in a pyschologically diminishing way and say that this is merely a collapsed bag or chute associated with the Opportunity Lander's decent in the atmosphere and/or its landing. Either that or they will likely identify it or the evidence like it pointed out in Part-1 around the Lander in Eagle Crater as impressions left on the ground by the Lander's bags or chutes as the Lander bounced and rolled around before coming to a rest. You can bet that it will be anything to get the evidence associated with the Lander and Earth rather with than Mars.

Such explanations would sound fairly plausible based on surface looks in the more distant imaging, but is it really? About the only thing they and I are likely to agree on here is that yes this is a bag but my take on it is that this bag does not have any origins associated with the Opportunity Lander at all except that the Lander landed right on top of some of this preexisting evidence. Note that there are no tethers visually evident associated with this intact bag nor is there any writing or numbers on the bag. Now let's look deeper with some more evidence below.

As you can see in the above 8th and 9th images, here we have remnants of other different bags at the same site within Eagle Crater. Note the unmistakable round junction end seam and the longer seams that extend around the body of the bag pieces just like with the intact bag seams in the 6th and 7th images. Note how the material is in pieces as though blown apart along the seam lines before settling to the ground and yet it is the same type of evidence as with the 6th and 7th images.

Very important, note how the bag material is laying very flat hugging the ground tightly and appears to be only in a single thin layer. Note how some of the material appears to be imprinting into the underlying rough surface soil and even deteriorating or rotting into that pulverized granulated very uniform textured soil. Note the obvious that the bag material in the 8th and 9th images is in much poorer physical condition than the intact bag material in the 6th and 7th images.

Finally, note all of this evidence being pointed out is very obviously actual material of some kind laying on top of the ground and not to be confused with a mere impression made in the soil by an inflated or partially inflated Lander bag. It is also very important to note that there is a significant difference in the degree of physical condition between intact bag material in the 6th and 7th images and the very poor condition bag material in the 8th and 9th images as well as the true Lander bags. Also, as another significant difference, clearly the bag remnant material demonstrated here is darker and far less sunlight reflective that the synthetic Lander bag material.

The above 10th image demonstrates the wider field of view of the bag remnant evidence in the 8th and 9th images. As you can see this evidence is very close and just off the edge of the Lander fixing their locations relative to the Lander. Note the difference of how strongly light reflective the crumpled up Lander bag in the lower left corner is relative to the darker bag material on the round out from the Lander. All these views except for the 10th image were taken from the Opportunity rover panoramic camera while the above 10th image view was taken by the navigation camera while the rover was still perched on the Lander platform.

In this Part-2 section, the goal here is to introduce you to these bags and what they look like intact and fresher on the ground as well as older and in pieces on the ground. The 6th and 7th images introduce you to the intact bags physical appearance and the subsequent 8th through 10th images demonstrate that these round patches you saw on the ground all around the Lander in Part-1 pointed out by the yellow dots are unmistakably portions of material from these same bags and not to be confused with mere impressions on the ground or some other substance. Now let's move on to the Part-3 evidence.
